Motivational Monday and Inspiration

London_quote

I must say I am huge fan of Project Runway. I have watched it since its premier season and have never missed a single episode of a single season.  I can also admit that my husband is quite the devotee as well since he was sucked in by happenstance and proximity.  I find the show fascinating for a variety of reasons; one being the clamor coupled with the sometimes stifling stress, but moreover I am entranced by the constant grasping at inspiration.  Anyone who is creative at all will tell you that inspiration is a fickle foe.  It is both motivator and crippler all rolled together. If you wait for it, it will never come and most of the time when it shows up it is comes with a flood of too many things all at once demanding to be dealt with at that moment.  However, inspiration makes the world go round.  From beautiful clothes, to art, to design, form and function of all things-inspiration drives us in entirely.  As I sit on my comfortable couch, I watch the designers on the show do just as the London quote suggests…they have to go after inspiration instead of waiting for the apple to plop them on their heads.  On this Autumn Monday, I hope you will be inspired to complete that project or start it.  Maybe today you’ll start your Christmas shopping or try a new recipe?  Get out your club and get going looking for that which sparks the insides of you.

About Kristi

Kristi Leeper is a lifelong lover of all things creative and crafty. She likes to touch things, dissect them, figure them out and maybe even reproduce them. Growing up in San Angelo, Texas she was exposed to small town values, but the world was always whispering in her ear to come out and play. Life has led her down a myriad of career paths such as a baker, licensed manicurist, florist, and a high school history teacher. The simple truth is she is good at all of these occupations and being good at a lot of things has served her well in life. She currently works as part-time as the Special Projects Manager for the Museum of the Southwest and for her husband keeping the books straight for the company he owns because he is simply a good boss and let’s her go to yoga whenever she wants.
