A glamorous new design direction is emerging in furniture and décor that’s modern yet romantic – contemporary yet rooted in classics.
As illustrated in the shimmery Salon Buffet with capiz shell accents in the opening photo and in the Haven Pedestal Dining Table and Haven Buffet above, this emerging transitional style has a look of “modern glamour” or “contemporary romance.”
The Salon and Haven Collections are the number one and two best-selling collections, respectively, at Bernhardt, who has been a design leader in pioneering the glamorous transitional look.
“We’re giving women a whole new furnishings wardrobe,” said Heather Eidenmiller, director of brand development for Bernhardt.
“As a 125-year-old company, many associate Bernhardt with classic, traditional furniture, and we certainly do offer those styles. However, we’re now offering a completely new look that’s quite luxe. The look is modern, glamorous and definitely statement pieces,” she said.
The Salon and Haven Collections have been the flagships of the new luxe look at Bernhardt.
Heather describes Salon, shown in the dining setting above, as “refined, modern, feminine and luxurious, with golden, ivory and shimmery elements.
Salon appeals to the woman who knows how to work an accessory.
These designs are coming from a very romantic place, but in a more contemporary way.”
Haven, the number two selling collection at Bernhardt, is the group that includes the beautiful Haven desk that is the Hadley Court #TimelessDesign GIVEAWAY currently running through Tuesday, October 21 at midnight with the winner being announced on the blog on Thursday, Oct. 23rd, the last day of High Point Market.
Entering to win this lovely desk inspired by English classics in a creamy Cameo finish with Brunette pin striping is easy and just takes seconds on the entry form provided here. We hope you’ll enter today if you haven’t already!
The Haven desk, like all the 62 eclectic pieces in the Haven Collection, has classic lines and proportions inspired by the 18th Century English masters — Adam, Sheraton and Hepplewhite — reduced to a modern essence.
The Sheraton-inspired Haven pedestal dining table, above, is pared down to its essential flared shape. Surrounded by dining chairs with trefoil-shaped, button-tufted backs, it has an upbeat, energetic vibe.
Haven is relaxed luxury for gracious living.
The newest addition to Bernhardt’s glamorous line up is the Jet Set Collection. Introduced at the April 2014 High Point Market, “Jet Set broke all records for orders at a market, so we envision this collection will sell as well, if not better, than the other two,” said Heather.
With its provenance in classical French design, though reinterpreted, Jet Set speaks to a particular audience of confident, elegant people — women who freely explore creativity and personal expression in their homes, Bernhardt believes.
The Jet Set Double Pedestal Dining Table above is illuminating and fierce. The top features fancy face ribbon stripe sapele veneers with a Caviar finish. The double ribbed pedestal bases are burnished and layered in a true gold leaf finish.
In Jet Set, Bernhardt “captures fashion’s new wave of ultra-refined, brilliant, personal style — objects of seductive desire and beauty,” said Heather.
Quite a leading edge design statement for a 125-year-old furniture company, right?
We at Hadley Court congratulate Bernhardt as the company celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. Bernhardt’s history is one of creativity and passion for the artistry of furniture, united with a deep commitment to people and relationships.
Quite unique by today’s standards, Bernhardt remains a family-owned business led by the fourth generation. A diversified global furniture manufacturer that employs people on six continents, Bernhardt is currently one of the largest family-owned companies in the U.S.
We salute the creativity, ingenuity and dedication of generations of countless fathers and mothers, sons and daughters and husbands and wives who form the bedrock of the company.
This creativity and design leadership is fresh and new again, even after 125 years, as Bernhardt leads the way in the new glamorous transitional design movement.
