LEGACY OF GIVING

The Bernhardt Furniture family, now being run by the 4th generation, has been in business for 125 years and this year, to celebrate they’re sharing twelve Stories of Giving on a new site, http://bernhardt125years.com, which highlights twelve employees and artisans who have made a personal contribution to helping those in need in Western North Carolina, where Bernhardt Furniture’s factory is located.  The Bernhardt family is also making contributions to those charities that mean the most to their twelve featured employees and artisans.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Bernhardt showroom yesterday here in High Point, North Carolina, which was full of beautiful items. I especially appreciate their attention to detail, as in the jewelry like hardware on one of their buffet consoles, featured in the title picture.

Leslie Hendrix Wood’s design office in Midland, Texas, a preview picture of which is shown below, is furnished with Bernhardt’s SALON collection. { The wallpaper is by Maya Romanoff, who unfortunately passed away earlier this year. Leslie wrote this tribute to him. }

Here at Hadley Court, one of the three pillars of our brand is #FamilyTraditions and we honor this program from Bernhardt who is upholding a family tradition we hold dear, too, that of giving back.

For their first Story of Giving, the Bernhardt family selected their executive assistant, Dawn Barrett, the founder of Dress to Impress which helps young women who can’t afford a prom dress in her community get one, to improve their self esteem. For more info, see http://graceplace.info.

This is Dawn and here’s her story on Bernhardt’s Stories of Giving site.

As we all know: #ittaksavillage to make an impact. We appreciate Bernhardt celebrating 125 years in business by giving back in this wonderful way to their employees and the charitable causes they care about the most.
