Do you love a beautiful kitchen?
This one was designed by Atlanta’s Bell Kitchen and Bath Studios , a sponsor of the 2014 Luxury Kitchen and also a sponsor of the Design Bloggers Conference 2014.
Hi Hadley Court readers, this is Leslie Carothers. I am guest posting for friend and client, Leslie Hendrix Wood – Midland, Texas interior decorator. In addition, Leslie is the founder of the luxury lifestyle brand and award-winning blog, Hadley Court. I’m posting for Leslie while she is on vacation with her family for spring break.
Design Bloggers Conference 2014
During the Design Bloggers Conference 2014 conference Leslie and I attended in Atlanta last week one statement stood out to me. The statement was made by celebrated AD Top 100 designer and keynote speaker, Timothy Corrigan. In addition, Timothy celebrated his birthday, yesterday, March 13th. Happy Birthday from the 2 Leslies to you, Timothy!
Leslie wrote about Timothy’s book on her post about how to identify parquet wood floors.
I wasn’t the only one to resonate with Timothy’s statement. For instance, as soon as he’d said it, Shelly Dozier-McKee, who pens the blog, Confetti Style, tweeted it:
In addition, his words stood out to me because we’d already spent a long time defining Leslie’s two words for her luxury lifestyle brand, Hadley Court.
Gracious Living.
Therefore, because of that, I thought today, I’d say thank you, a hallmark of gracious living. Thank you to some more of the Design Blogger Conference sponsors: Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle Magazine, Bell Kitchen and Bath Studio, Sub Zero Wolf-Atlanta and Hafele USA.
If you missed my guest post-Wednesday about another sponsor, American Standard’s new DXV brand, please click here.
Leslie and I found out, from talking with Adam Japko that the team at Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle magazine was instrumental in helping Adam pull together the greater Atlanta community. Similarly, the community helped to make this year’s conference such a great experience for all of us who were able to attend. Thank you, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle – your team did a great job and we felt welcomed! Adam Japko is the founder of the Design Bloggers Conference and the head of Digital Sherpa.
Readers, please click the picture of this month’s cover, below, to read the entire digital edition of their beautiful March issue.
Wine by Adam and Jeremy
Have you read Adam’s wine blog yet, http://winezag.com?
I recommend you quickly buy yourself a bottle of one of these 3 wines to enjoy this weekend while you read this post.
Wine is Adam’s real passion.
These were the wines that we all enjoyed at the conference which were recommended by his friend, Jeremy Parzen, one of the speakers. You can find them all listed by clicking Jeremy’s blog post about this day at http://dobianchi.com.
Here’s Jeremy’s picture from the stage, below.
Leslie is sitting in the front row next to Donna Lisa Hazzard -the one smiling and wearing the beautiful mustard colored coat.
I’m next to her leaning down with the black glasses. In addition, my fellow Google + Interior Design Community moderators, designer Jeffrey Johnson, who lives in Dallas and designer Jeanne Chung, who lives in LA, are both to my left.
Jeanne’s blog, Cozy Stylish Chic, was a finalist for Best New Design Blog 2014 this year, and although it was Michelle’s fun DIY blog, Iron and Twine, that won, Leslie wrote about all 4 finalists, here. Jeanne has a nice consolation prize, though, because she is a StyleSpotter at the upcoming High Point Market! Congrats, Jeanne, Leslie and I look forward to seeing you there.
In addition, as you, readers, can see, we were ALL totally enjoying these wines. Thank you for making this possible, Jeremy and Adam -we appreciate you.
Now that you know what wines to buy…
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle Magazine – Beautiful Kitchens
So, who doesn’t love a beautiful kitchen?
Let’s look at another one, chosen by 2014 Design Bloggers Conference + 2014 Luxury Living Kitchen and Bath sponsor, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle Magazine. This is one of their four 2014 winning kitchen designs – in a contest they run each year.
I’m in love.
Are you?
In addition, designer readers, budgeting for great photography, if you want to get published, was the main point brought up again and again.
Therefore, doesn’t this photograph below tell you why?
Gorgeous, right? This beautiful picture was taken by either David Christensen or Emily Followill. I could not trace it back farther than that, can you help identify the photographer, please, of this shot, AT&L? Thank you!
This kitchen was a design collaboration between Frank G. Neely Design Inc., architect and Wendy Meredith Interior Design who works with Bradley Heppner Architects, LLC in Atlanta. If you’d like to see Atlanta Home & Lifestyle magazines 3 other 2014 winning kitchen designs and read what their judges had to say about “What Makes A Winning Kitchen Design?” click, here.
Designer readers, don’t miss Annette’s new styling workshops and see her wonderful post here about everything you need for your own styling kits for your photoshoots. What a generous post, but that’s what Southern hospitality and gracious living is all about – sharing.
Hafele – Beautiful Kitchens
Which brings me to what I’d REALLY like to write about today. The beautiful INSERTS from Hafele and the amazing Sub Zero and Wolf refrigerator *armoire* captivated both Leslie and I.
Hafele, a #DBC2014 sponsor, whose drawer inserts in the Luxury Living kitchen captivated Leslie and I. You can see why in this collage of my pictures, right?
A place for everything and everything in it’s place. As Leslie Hendrix Wood has always said, ” A well organized life is the foundation for gracious living.”
This kitchen was designed by Courtney Foster Shearer, the editor of the blog, The Cowspot, {which was a finalist for Best New Design Blog 2012 so don’t miss reading her fun post – with her first video showing the installation process of the 2014 Luxury Kitchen installation, here }. Courtney is the senior designer at Bell Kitchen and Bath Studios. Beautiful job, Courtney!
Here’s Courtney with designer Suzanne Kasler, one of the keynote speakers, whom I’ll share more about, in depth, on tomorrow’s post.
Sub Zero Wolf – Beautiful Kitchens
Mike Bell, featured below, is the owner of Bell Kitchen and Bath Cabinetry. He is standing in front of the custom-designed Sub Zero Wolf *armoire* refrigerator.
Similarly, can you imagine how heavy this armoire refrigerator was to get into Phipps Plaza? A great installation crew is worth their weight in gold.
Above all, tip your installation crew before they start your installation project. In addition, provide a letter of testimonial to their boss. This goes a long way towards making sure you will have a perfect installation. In addition, this will assist in a perfect installation the next time they return.
We pulled out every drawer and opened every cabinet in the “Luxury Living Kitchen 2014”. In addition, we marveled over the genius of enclosing the Sub Zero and Wolf refrigerator in an armoire that was a gorgeously crafted piece of furniture. Leslie felt that her interior design clients in Midland, Texas, would like this idea, a lot.
Leslie and I had a long conversation with Mike, he was so nice. It’s not hard to see why luxury interior designers, architects and homeowners in Atlanta and beyond enjoy working with Mike Bell and his team. Thank you, Mike, for spending so much time with us. We appreciated it!
In addition, Courtney designed Mike’s company kitchen. All of the bloggers are listening to Suzanne Kasler speak on Sunday in front of the kitchen below. Courtney has been designing the Luxury Kitchen for these shows for several years now.
And going back to sponsor, Sub Zero: thank you, Sub Zero and Wolf for the delicious lunch at your gorgeous Atlanta showroom below. I didn’t style my shot of this side of your showroom well, below. For instance, my lunch plate is still in the picture!
A Big Thank You
Thank you, sponsors, and thank you to everyone we met during the design bloggers conference. We were inspired by the beautiful kitchens that we saw. In addition, thank you to everyone we spoke with. Similarly, thank you, everyone, we didn’t speak with, due to our early departure.
Above all, thank you for making our time in Atlanta very special. For instance, just by being there and contributing your conversations, comments, hugs, tweets and creative energy to the whole atmosphere. YOU, the people, are what makes this event each year so dynamic!
In conclusion, Hadley Court readers, thank YOU for your comments, suggestions and subscriptions to Leslie’s blog. In addition, for your follows on her other social channels.
Without you, none of what has happened for Leslie, that she wrote about on her beautiful, heartfelt post, Dreams Come True, here, would have been possible.
We don’t take your time and attention for granted. In addition, we hope Hadley Court helps you in your own quest for Gracious Living.
And as Leslie said in her Dreams Come True post
