Fashion! Who doesn’t love the red carpet runway and the excitement it creates? Today, readers, just in time for Leslie Hendrix Wood’s trip to Las Vegas for #KBIS2015 as part of #BlogTourVegas, I thought I’d show you how spring fashion trends from the runway can translate into chic, glamorous bathroom spaces.
These translations of trends can be stripes or florals, abstract or geometric prints – or even monochromatic color schemes (as shown above – gown by Ralph Lauren – bathroom designed by Mark Williams Design Associates). Fashionable patterns can easily be incorporated into luxurious bathroom spaces, such as powder rooms, guest rooms, and master bathrooms.
These patterns need not only be applied to textiles, such as window treatments and linens – but pattern can also be executed as elegant or dramatic wall-coverings and intricate tile patterns or bone inlay. Tile patterns inspired from fashion can become the finishing surfaces to customize showers, floor covering, wainscoting, ceilings – any surface in a bathroom!
One of Leslie’s #BlogTourVegas sponsors, Walker Zanger, is one resource for beautiful tile for your bathrooms, by the way.
Fashion inspiration need not always be so literal – even an edgy runway look (as above) can translate into a timeless black & white bathroom design. Balance and proportion of color in a space, such as a watercolor palette of a Spring dress (shown below, designed by Monique Lhuillier) can still create a bathroom designed for the sexes – mixing a balance of both strong masculine and feminine details…
Below are some more examples of bathroom + fashion that I’ve paired for you, Hadley Court readers, as inspiration for your bathroom renovations, converting them into a work of art…

Just like floral patterns lend themselves to a more elegant and romantic mood for a bathroom design, such as the pretty petals shown above on this Oscar de la Renta dress from his last collection – Spring/Summer 2015, colorblocking or stripes can add a powerful dimension to a space with graphic impact…
Mixed Florals and Stripes… Dress from Bibhu Mohapatra – bathroom designed by Summer Thornton.

Bold Colorblocking – bath by Amanda Lindroth.
The whimsical spring print from Diane von Furstenberg translates into an abstract work of art for a powder room designed by Amanda Nisbet.
More delightful details from fashion, such as an amazing leather belt in an accent color of red, can become that splash of color in a classic black & white bathroom – such as a sexy red soaking tub.
And classic black and white combinations are excellent inspiration to apply to tile-work – and even bone inlay work to elevate the craftsmanship of your bathroom design…
Bathroom details today can come from a mix of metal finishes such as satin or polished nickel, chrome, and even more popular now: brass finishes that are polished, brushed, or antiqued.
Which fashion + bath combination inspires you? Are you bold and dramatic? Sophisticated and strong? Or soft and romantic to the core? One look at your closet might be just the clue.
