Ahhh…who wouldn’t love a multi functional luxury laundry room like the one above, with a combined gift wrap/craft area and mud room, too, designed by Suzy Collins of ABC Design for a family with 5 children under 14 – now that school is back in session and fall is approaching?
#Swoonworthy!
But here’s the other question: What are the solutions for “working Moms and Dads” who don’t have the time to wash, dry, fold and put away all those clothes?
Some parents love to do it themselves. Right? The smell of their children’s clothes, the relaxing moments spent washing, hanging, folding and smoothing are all stress relievers for some and they’d rather do laundry than almost anything else -especially if they can wash it with genuine french Savon de Marseille soap – made with 72% olive oil and 28% sodium carbonate { and that’s all} and hang it out on a line to dry to absorb that clean, fresh air smell like Ronelle Van Wyk showed us how to do here on her blog, My French Kitchen.
They love ironing and pressing and the “all is right with the world” feeling they get when they hang a freshly pressed shirt in a well organized closet.
BUT, if you don’t have time to do this on a regular basis, especially with school season swinging into gear and carpooling, travel and the holidays…have you thought of using a luxury wash + dry + fold service?
What can these services do for you?
They will:
Pick up and drop off and wash, dry and fold {perfectly} your family’s laundry, and, for an extra charge, have it back to you in the same day!
What is the basic cost for this?
Most laundries have a minimum of about $15-$25 – depending on the area of the country you live in – and they charge between 1.00 – 1.70 a pound.
For an extra charge, they will:
Press any item.
Wash your slipcovers and iron them.
Wash and press your bedspreads and linens.
Many offer mending services.
In Houston, designer Pamela Pierce, founder of the Houston HQ’d interiors magazine, MILIEU, uses { according to their website }
http://innerlooplaundry.com for all of her client’s slipcovers, tableclothes, etc. like the tablecloth in the picture below of one of her designs.
In Dallas, http://thewashhouselaundry.com , in business for the past 18 years and family owned, seems to be the place to go if the testimonials on their site are any indication.
Would it be nice for you to have an extra few hours each week for one of these, by using a wash, dry and fold service?
Would it be easier for your children to get dressed for school in the morning { and less stressful on you } if their clothes were in their closets like this, neatly folded and pressed?
If the answers are yes, we hope today’s post has given you a good, time saving, stress reducing idea, and, if you are already using one of these services, please let us know in the comments { and all of our readers, too } what wash dry and fold service you use in your local areas, so that, if they live nearby, they can find it, too.
And, if you still love the idea of having your own luxury laundry room, even in a smaller space, HOUZZ has many good ideas for you, like the beautiful one below, designed by Erika Friesen with custom cabinetry by Braams Cabinets in Ontario.
That fold out ironing board that doesn’t interfere with the drop down door of the washer or the door swing of the dryer? Love.
Smart planning by a smart designer – which is why using one is so worth it. Right?
