Today, I thought I would share with you a little more about me. I am an interior designer in Midland, Texas. The city of Midland exists because of the oil and gas industry. Without it, very few would choose to live in this dessert. The nearest body of water is 2 hours away – and still leaves a lot to be desired. Although Midland is not one of the prettiest places, it is certainly home to some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. The city is unique in that it is one of the wealthiest cities per capita in the country. Midland is also home to a plethora of very educated and well travelled residents. I am fortunate to be able to practice interior design in such a unique place.
The collage above gives you a peak into my soul. I have a loving husband and a teenage daughter and son. And, of course, our precious Westie named Snickers. I love to travel and have a weakness for Fortuny fabric. One of my favorite pleasures is our family home, Hadley Court, set on 60,000 acres in Arkansas.
My goal is to manufacture a home furnishings line under the name Hadley Court. I am in the research phase right now. My daughter will graduate from High School in a year. During this time, I will be meeting with manufacturers and deciding on which one would be a perfect fit with Hadley Court. I will keep you posted on my progress.
Thanks to you, Hadley Court won Best New Design Blog of the year. Today a press release launched publicizing our win. Here is a small excerpt:
Adam Japko, the host of the Design Bloggers
Conference had this to say, ” The Hall of Fame selection committee
originally chose Leslie’s interior design blog to be in the Top 5 nominations
for *Best New Design Blog 2013* award because of a combined
expertise in design and the finer things in life and an authenticity that
shines through in all of Leslie’s content. Her ability to couch design
and lifestyle sensibility in the context of style, people, and stories
impressed the judges . As the Hall of Fame rules call for, final
winners are determined 50% by the votes of the general public and 50% by our
selection committee. Leslie’s blog won and we were thrilled to bring her blog,
Hadley Court, international attention and social media recognition and award
her a beautiful crystal sculpture for winning *Best New Design Blog 2013*
at our recent Design Bloggers Conference in Los Angeles.”
