WHICH OF THESE 2 SWING ARM READING LAMPS IS YOUR FAVORITE? WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK IS BETTER FOR A READER?
Please let us know your thoughts in the comments!
We all love the subtly sparkly, glamorous and flattering light that falls gently on us from a dimmed chandelier in our bedrooms and the soft pools of golden ambient light that fall over our favorite family mementos from the lovely lamps on our bedside tables, right? But, sometimes, when we crawl into bed, we just want to snuggle up into our pillows, pull up our duvet, and forget the cares of the world to read or play on our computers and for this another type of lighting is needed:
the swing arm reading light.
Which one of the two swing arm reading lights, in these 2 bedrooms above, both exquisitely designed by California designer Suzanne Tucker, is your favorite? Which one do you think a reader would find most useful? We invite you to let us know in the comments and then…
Tomorrow, on Hadley Court, we’ll explore classically designed, swing arm reading lights in detail. We’ll share our Top 10 Considerations for choosing a swing arm reading lamp, and our Top 5 Favorite Swing Arm Bedroom Lamps.
If you are needing a swing arm reading lamp for your own bedrooms or if you are a brand new designer reading Hadley Court who needs to understand exactly what to consider and what questions to ask your clients, please check in with us tomorrow!
Until then: enjoy this from our friends at Circa Lighting, which shows you their most pinned lights from the week of April 29, 2014 and…
… if you are not yet reading Residential Lighting magazine, and you’re a new interior designer or a design lover interested in lighting, may we recommend it? It is available as a free digital edition. Why are we recommending it? Because it’s an esteemed source for learning about the latest in lighting technology and discovering beautiful new lines of lighting, like the Pebble Table lamp below, seen this year at the Maison Objet show in Paris for the first time and made in Portugal. What do you think, Hadley Court readers?
Could it be the next classic, timeless design?
And lastly, please don’t miss seeing Timothy Corrigan’s beautiful window for the La Cienega Design Quarter’s 6th annual Legends of La Cienega Event in Los Angeles – whose theme this year is: NOVEL INTERIORS: Storytelling by Design. Many designers, including Timothy, were asked to design a window around the theme of their favorite novel – and you can’t read a great one..without a reading light, right?
On the blog yesterday, you may have seen our video interview with Timothy, { and his own bedroom } where he shared how much he loves to read when he’s at his home in Los Angeles or at his home, the Chateau du Grand -Luce, in France. We can’t wait to see his window at this event, themed around the novel he chose. If you missed our interview with him about the gracious details that go into designing an inviting bedroom, including his thoughts on reading lights, we invite you to please click here if you’d like to watch it now.
Would you like to see all the beautiful furniture, lighting and the windows from this event, Hadley Court readers?
