Yesterday, design book author and interior designer Alexandra Stoddard lost her beloved husband, Peter Brown, shown with her in the 2 pictures below. We were so saddened to hear this as were so many others who have been enriched by witnessing their palpable love for each other.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with the Stoddard and Brown families.
Some of you, readers, may remember that Hadley Court contributor Kim Darden Shaver was granted a phone interview with Alexandra Stoddard earlier this year about how Mrs. Stoddard continued to choose happiness, even while caring for her husband almost full time.
Today, we’re sharing Part 1 of those two interviews again, in honor of this couple who brightened up the days of so many of us who read about their wonderful relationship and love for each other in many of Alexandra Stoddard’s books.
In this interview, Alexandra Stoddard shares how, even in the midst of caring for her husband almost full time in this last year, she *Chose Happiness*, reminding all of us how we can do the same if we’re in a similar situation.
May this lovely and gracious gentleman rest in eternal peace, knowing he had a priceless gift – the love of a beautiful woman – inside and out – whom so many of us feel we almost *know* through the legacy of her books detailing the happiness they found in creating a home and a life together.
