In today’s homes, and especially here in Texas, homeowners are often wanting to add a little bit of glamour and sparkle to their kitchen through the use of metallic tile backsplashes.
Metallic tiles are a wonderful way to provide a textural contrast to kitchen cabinetry that has been painted in a matte or semi-gloss paint finish, as the example above shows so well, designed by St. Louis kitchen designer, Jenny Rausch, CKD.
In today’s post, we hope to inspire you to work with your kitchen designers and/or interior designers to add a little extra glamour to your kitchens through the use of metallic tiles for your backsplash!
Can you imagine how beautiful this metallic tile backsplash in this kitchen, designed by La Jolla and New York based designer, Alison Dorvillier, must look at night, when it’s lit by the light from that spectacular range hood?
Here’s another view of it from the side.
Wow!
There are many manufacturers who make beautiful metallic tiles for your backsplash.
One of our favorites is Ann Sacks, whose tiles Leslie Hendrix Wood just used for her backsplash in her own home’s kitchen renovation.
We especially like this Ann Sacks tile above for its softly undulating, organic feeling and because it’s made out of 72% post-consumer recycled glass.

And, although it’s shown in a bathroom application, another option from Ann Sacks is this metallic tile, which is not made out of recycled glass.
Readers – which of these 2 Ann Sacks backsplash tiles do you like best?
And, just for fun…who remembers what a huge splash French designer Jean Deniot’s all metallic kitchen cabinetry made when it was first published?
Having your kitchen cabinetry finished this way adds glamour and light to a very small kitchen area, as he so expertly shows us in his own kitchen, below.
We hope today’s post has given you some ideas for how you can add a touch of glamour to your own kitchens, dear readers!
Do any of you already have a metallic tile backsplashes in your own kitchens…or are you considering it?
Do you have any concerns about doing it, if you’re thinking about it?
If so, we’d love to hear from you and answer your questions in the comments.
As always, thank you for reading and subscribing to Hadley Court – we appreciate YOU.
