The illustrations of artist Patricia Van Essche have long captivated me with their charm, elegance and sense of whimsy and today, Hadley Court readers, I’d like to introduce her to you.
Patricia is a Mom of three, 2 twin sons and a daughter, and she lives in Westchester County, New York and writes a wonderful blog which you can read, here, if you’d like.
Patricia was born in Louisville, Kentucky which led her to attend the University of Cincinnati’s renowned College of Design, Architecture and Art where, as a Fashion Design student, she was awarded the school’s “Golden Brush” award for excellence. For 15 years she lived in Manhattan and traveled the world as a designer and design director for fashion’s elite Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Liz Claiborne brands…but making her own art was her true calling.
Today, she accepts private commissions and has a pretty Etsy shop.
It’s hard for me to decide which one of the following PVE Designs I like the best. Which one is your favorite, Hadley Court readers?
# 1 – Holding Court { above }
#2 – The Pink Flowers { below }
#3 – Summer Coastal Lunch
#4 – The Piano
{ I was fortunate enough to win a random giveaway of 6 of *The Piano* greeting cards on Atlanta design duo Kandrac & Kole’s blog giveaway a month ago and can attest to how beautiful these cards are when you receive them! }
FYI: Kelly Murray Cole and Joanne Carlozzo Kandrac are now involved in helping Hadley Court’s favorite Dallas based charity, Dwell With Dignity, establish an Atlanta based provisional chapter.
They still have some needs for a recently homeless Mom and her 2 children that they wrote about on their blog, here. They move this Mom in on September 17th.
If you don’t know about Dwell With Dignity yet, HC contributor Lynda Quintero – Davids wrote a wonderful post, including before and after shots of some of the rooms they’ve designed for homeless families, here.
Okay, back to choosing your favorite!

{ A final note: Patricia just lost her dearly loved father. Many of you know what this feels like and I do, too. }
