In a world filled with not enough hours in the day to get everything you intended to get done –to get done — there’s always a sigh of relief when convenient design is at your fingertips. The bedroom is a wonderful place of respite where one needs to relax the mind. But who says you can’t do that in style? By changing the headboard and playing with different ideas you can give your bedroom a make-over without buying a whole new house!

Below are 7 ways to give your bedroom a little facelift….well head-lift.

Art As a Headboard:

Tired of looking through so many dull headboards? No problem. By painting the wall-space behind you, create a headboard with a few paint rolls and you’re set! Still not enough? Hang your favorite art piece to give it that extra je ne sais qois.

Repurposed Antiques:

Antiques have that quality to them that they’re mysterious and chic but often one is like “Where in the world would I ever use that?” You’d be surprised. Here’s a way to use those old windows that were rotting away in your basement…not on our watch! These make a beautiful backdrop – ready for your dreams to take away to a design heaven!

Crushed Velvet:

Crushed velvet is a huge trend – incorporating it into your headboard can add a chic and comfortable vibe to your space.

Pop-Cushion

If you live in a world where more is more, opt for a headboard that’s going to fit a personality larger than life. Greens like last year’s pantone color of the year make just the right statement when looking for a headboard shift.

House Beautiful

Sticking to the Classics:

Sometimes branching outside of our comfort zones gives more anxiety than had you gone the safe route. There’s no point in beating a dead horse. Do what’s comfortable for you. Opting for a classic headboard shows your guests that you are secure and happy with who you are and your authentic style is here to stay!

Off-the-Wall

Ever wanted to just get lost when things got too hectic? Well, you don’t have to leave the planet (physically) to get in the right headspace. By using padding you can continue your design scheme from the floor all the way to the ceiling. The sky is your limit….literally.

Soft Meets Strong

Create a bold statement without being too harsh. By upholstering the headboard in a softer palette, designers, Mitchell Hill, lent a soft touch to colorful bedroom. Like all things in life, balance is key.

Now that you’re in the right headspace with these headboards, let your eyes rest and delve away into a space where you are now the king or queen of the castle. Your master bedroom awaits.
