You never know what will happen when a designer sets out to solve a problem!
Greenville, N.C. floral designer Ed Glenn and his wife have stellar reputations for their arrangements.
Their arrangements have been showcased at the White House and State events.
But as their business grew so did the headaches of working in the fresh flower industry.
Frustrated with shipping delays, weather and poor growing conditions, Ed began looking for a high quality faux alternative to live, potted plants.
Unsatisfied with what he found, he decided to create his own!
With no production or manufacturing experience, Ed developed a prototype that he displayed at High Point Furniture Market. Before long, he had many orders and began his family owned and operated company, New Growth designs.
Today, New Growth Designs is a leading provider of luxury faux plants, flowers, trees and elegant faux outdoor greenery.
Hearty Faux Greenery
At the recent High Point Market, New Growth Designs introduced an innovative landscaping technology, ENDURALEAF, that sets a new standard of performance for artificial outdoor greenery. All hedges, balls, topiaries, mats, green wall panels and succulents are tested and approved to withhold appearance for temperate climate zones in most places in the U.S. for up to 10 years.
Under the intense sun exposure of places like Florida, Arizona and the Middle East, the outdoor faux greenery is tested to last for around 5 years.
Elegant Outdoor Landscapes
Inspired by English and French gardens, Ed’s faux greenery adds enduring, low maintenance beauty to any setting.
ENDURALEAF faux greenery blends seamlessly with natural plantings and lawns. The boxwood balls and hedges make this expansive yard appear neatly groomed.
When I lived in an apartment I grew tired of looking at all the concrete around me!
Elegant faux greenery is the answer for those longing for the outdoors!
The fact that it’s so durable and carefree makes it perfect for city living.
Climbing vines add character to any facade. However, they can cause damage as they grow.
This thick faux boxwood vine enhances the architecture of the Franklin Historic Restoration building in Birmingham.
And, it won’t damage the brick!
Timeless Design
The secret to ENDURALEAF product’s lasting beauty is ” a proprietary technology, engineering, and material,” said Glenn. “The material used is similar to the faux leather used for car door interiors and dashboards. There is no cracking, splitting, or fading,” he said.
Outdoor faux greenery and hedges are catching on all over the world, especially with designers and architects, Glenn said.
“Everyone loves the carefree maintenance, yet it looks so authentic. (The greenery) allows you to bring the gracious look of European gardens to your outdoor settings, even if the soil and climate wouldn’t allow live plants to grow there.”
