If you’re coming to Dallas Market Center this Thursday, June 19th, for the #JuneSneakPeek Blogger event for the 1st time, today’s post gives you my top tips to make it easier for you to understand how to navigate the event and how to plan for it. I am, once again, honored to have been invited by Dallas Market Center to be one of your 5 co-hosts and look forward to welcoming you Thursday.
I will be arriving in Dallas from Midland, Texas { where I live and practice design } with interior design clients of mine, to shop with them on Wednesday, and then I’m looking forward to the #JuneSneakPeek blogger event Thursday. If you haven’t registered yet, there are a few spots left and if you’d like to sign up before it sells out, please click here.
READY?
PARKING
When I went to Dallas Market Center for the 1st time, finding a place to park was not easy even though there are 7000 free parking spaces – because it’s a very busy market. It will be busier than usual this week, too, because in addition to the Total Home and Gift Show market, this is also the week of the International Lighting Market, the largest lighting market in the country – and these 2 events will overlap.
Fortunately, if you’re attending the #JuneSneakPeek blogger event, there is reserved parking for you and you will receive information about where to park via email.
The infographic below shows you the general layout, including the buildings, freeways and parking areas.
REGISTRATION
#JuneSneakPeek attendees: our day together starts at 9:30 am and registration is in the atrium on the ground floor of the World Trade Center building, shown below, & you will see signage so, even though it’s huge, don’t worry!
Once you’re inside, is the first thing you need coffee? If you get to the #JuneSneakPeek blogger event early on Thursday, the Starbucks on the 1st floor of the WTC is where you’ll find everyone usually milling around. Please don’t be shy if you see me. I want to meet you and welcome you and, as 1 of your 5 hosts, introduce you to others so you’ll feel comfortable as you start your day.
Here’s what all of us, your hosts, look like so you can walk up to us and introduce yourself if you see any of us!
This picture was from this past January’s event and, this year, the beautiful new Surya showroom is our first stop. By the time we arrive, you’ll have met everyone and fun group pics like this will, we all hope, be part of your overall experience, too – great memories of interesting conversations, fun times, new friends, new business connections and beautiful products from the showrooms we’ll visit.
Here’s the map of the 3 connected buildings.
As you can see from the agenda below this infographic, we’ll be starting our day in the World Trade Center, but going over to Market Hall for lunch {and if you don’t know Bud Royer’s pies, then you’ve never been to Round Top, Texas and you’re in for a real Texas treat! And if you’d like to know a bit more about Round Top ask co-host, Kelley Copeland, who’s very familiar with it. }
Please note that Market Hall isn’t attached so, in case it’s raining, you may want to bring your fold up rain coat + umbrella. In addition, you’ll be walking a lot – and all day, so please consider wearing your most comfortable shoes. { FYI: Did you know that shoes {!} are the fastest growing category of new tenants for Dallas Market Center? If you’d like to read more about Dallas Market Center and it’s visionary and well respected CEO and how fast it is growing, see this excellent article in D Magazine, here. }
Here’s our agenda for the #JuneSneakPeek blogger event
As you can see, after lunch, we’re staying in Market Hall to visit the Vintage temporaries { temporaries are where vendors set up who don’t have permanent showrooms } for about 45 minutes and then crossing back over to go to the TradeMart building, where we have about 35 minutes to look at the Design temporaries before crossing over and heading upstairs in the World Trade Center building to see one of my favorite lighting lines, Visual Comfort.
You’ll always find exciting new small brands at the DESIGN temporaries like the tabletop line *By B Brandie* that co-host Elle Cole wrote about on her blog, here.
Another co-host, Dallas TV personality and friend Shay Geyer, also held an event in her beautiful retail store in Dallas, IBB Designs, where *B by Brandie* was one of the new brands featured.
I am also really looking forward to hearing co-host and my good friend, Dallas based interior designer Denise McGaha shown below, speak in the morning on her speciality: Designing on A Deadline. Denise has been so helpful to me, as a newer designer, in every way. Thank you, Denise.
Every showroom we visit is so good about making available to the bloggers & social media influencers who visit them and blog, Instagram, Facebook and tweet about their brand for free, great prizes. Last year, my name was randomly drawn for one of these prizes. I was thrilled and even more excited to be able to choose any lamp in the Corbett Lighting/Hudson Valley lighting showroom I wanted. I chose this one I’m standing next to below. That was so generous of the Corbett showroom and as you can see below…
it now beautifully illuminates the subtle sparkle in the Maya Romanoff wallpaper in my new interior design office in Midland. Thank you again, Corbett/Hudson Valley and, readers, if you’d like to find this same lamp for your own homes, please click this link, here.
And even if you don’t win a prize, Dallas Market Center always makes sure you go home with a fabulous swag bag, full of wonderful gifts, {the one below was from January of last year as featured on co-host’s Kelley Copeland’s blog, The Hidden List, here, } as their way of saying thank you to everyone who attends.
And speaking of prizes, I have one of my own that you can win, Hadley Court readers and friends, in my easy to enter #TimelessDesign Summer Sweepstakes series. It’s the beautiful MEMPHIS gold leafed and antique mirror accent table shown below, manufactured by Century Furniture in the USA and designed for Century by interior designer and philanthropist, Charlotte Moss.
To win this beautiful table, all you have to do is click: https://hadleycourt.com/sweepstakes and, from this entry form, either LIKE my Facebook Page or submit your email. That’s it. It’s as easy as a piece of Bud Royer’s delicious pie to be entered to win! I’ll draw 1 random winner July 2nd and announce it on the blog July 3rd. Good luck!
If you’re attending Dallas Market Center and/or the #JuneSneakPeek blogger event { and even if you’re not } I invite to enter my #TimelessDesign Summer Sweepstakes series now, by clicking on this link:

And my thanks to Charlotte Moss for including HADLEY COURT’s sweepstakes, featuring her MEMPHIS accent table for Century Furniture on the cover of her own online design magazine, FLAIR, which you can read about if you’d like to, by clicking FLAIR here.
My sincere thanks to the team at Dallas Market Center for inviting me to once again co-host this wonderful event. I am looking forward to seeing long time friends, and welcoming each of you attending the #JuneSneakPeek event this Thursday, June 18th, for the 1st time.
