LESLIE HENDRIX WOOD, INTERIOR DESIGNER
Interior Design. Tradition. Beauty. Comfort. Grace. Proportion. Scale. Fine Living. Luxury Details. Patina. Antiques. Views. Lakes. Nature. All of these words inspire me as an interior designer and I hope they inspire you, too.
Growing up in Midland, Texas, my mother, my style icon, taught me the beauty of nature and how appreciation for life’s simple pleasures brings harmony into the home. I experienced this firsthand every summer at Hadley Court, our family’s summer home on 65,000 acres in Arkansas. I remember vividly listening to the murmuring of the water in the fountain in our inner courtyard and being so happy and content. Our summer home wasn’t grand, but nature was – and I loved my summers there.
Thanks to my Mother, I grew up appreciating all aspects of fine living and I was fascinated with interior design. I wanted to help others create the elegance and comfort that I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by – in their own homes. However, I decided to wait to pursue this passion, until after my son and daughter were in their tweens and didn’t need me around quite as much.
Now that I am a practicing interior designer here in Midland, Texas, I am honored to have many wonderful clients who have entrusted me with all aspects of crafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind homes for themselves and their families. My clients appreciate my classical design and my understanding of how important their own family heirlooms are to them when I am designing their interiors. They expect me to design a home for them that is so finely crafted that they can pass it down to their children -and they to their children, if they so choose.
I am excited for the future of the Hadley Court brand, too. Recently, I announced my intention to develop a line of textiles and furniture that reflect my heritage and the natural beauty that surrounded me as I grew up and I hope to launch these in 2014. If you would like to receive information about Hadley Court’s launch, please click here to subscribe to the Hadley Court blog and/or click here to sign up for the Hadley Court newsletter.
