Time to Grow!

2013 Goals

time-to-grow

As you can see from above, I have spent the last few days working on my goals for 2013. After some reflection I have decided that goals are only worthwhile when you implement them. For 2013 I am choosing to respond to life, not react to it. By organizing more, I believe I can respond better and react less. When things are in order there is no need to panic.  I am generally a very organized person but I think my whole system needs some fine tuning.

I have gone back to work as an interior designer. After so many years out of the work force I need to set a mission statement for my business and some clear cut goals. You can only improve things if you have the tools to measure them.

I am choosing to exercise consistently this year. I am responding to the reward of good health instead of reacting and sitting and doing nothing.

And last of all, I have chosen a theme word for me for 2013. My word is COURAGE. This year I plan to be courageous in business by stepping out of my comfort zone and being more public about my design practice. I am facing some difficult outside family business partnerships that must take COURAGE to solve and overcome.

I am starting my new year with a bang and attending Tobi Fairley’s MBA camp this week. I have been a longtime admirer of Tobis and I so look forward to meeting her. It was Tobi and her facebook forum which encouraged me to choose my word for the year. So my friends, let’s make 2013 a year to remember. Wishing you all much success in 2013!
