Inspired by the exquisite beauty of Spain’s masterpiece of architecture, the Alhambra palace complex in Granada Spain, I am thrilled to share with you, Hadley Court readers, the launch of a new textile collection by one of my favorite interior designers, Suzanne Tucker, of the San Francisco interior design firm Tucker and Marks. Suzanne Tucker Home is introducing the Alhambra Collection in 12 showrooms across the United States.
According to her press release, Suzanne was inspired by the peaceful and picturesque setting of the Alhambra includes decorative arabesques, the Andalusian architecture, white washed colors, windswept stone textures, reflecting pools and tranquil gardens.

There are four beautiful patterns available in her Alhambra Collection.
The supple chenille, Onda, which means, “ripple” in Spanish, was derived from the light reflections from the pools, fountains, and cascades in the Alhambra’s Court of Myrtles. It is available in six organic shades.

Alcazaba is another unique chenille in the collection. The geometric weave and antiqued surface design of Alcazaba was inspired by the Alcazaba fortress, which is the oldest part of the Alhambra. It is available in three neutral colorways.

The two-toned linen print, Filigrana, below, was inspired by the stylized vegetal forms, interlacing decoration, and calligraphy patterns that are present throughout the Alhambra. It is given an extra dimension by the “couching” embroidery and is available in three colorways.

Cordova, a cotton/linen basic, was inspired by the white-washed tower and walls of the Alhambra. It is available in 15 soft shades of color.

As you can see, Suzanne Tucker has hit another home run with her latest textile collection and one day I want to see this beautiful ceiling there, shown below, myself. Isn’t it beautiful?

For now, though, I’m simply happy to share with you how truly inspired I am by Suzanne’s new collection and hope I have the opportunity to use them in a project soon.
The Filigrana pattern is my favorite.
Which pattern inspires you the most? Please let me know in the comments!
