As many of you know, the world’s largest wholesale international tradeshow for furniture, accessories, art and lighting is High Point Market, a show with over 2000 exhibitors, covering over 80 million square feet, bringing in international editors and journalists and over 75,000 attendees twice a year to High Point, North Carolina.
Each year, the High Point Market Authority selects 8 designers and/or influencers to be part of its official StyleSpotter program. This yearly group of official StyleSpotters has as their responsibility at the Spring and Fall High Point Markets to represent High Point Market Authority with respect to *spotting* the trends and new directions in textiles, color, detailing, etc. they see there.
It is a great honor to be part of this program and if you’re a long time reader of Hadley Court, you know that Leslie Hendrix Wood, the owner of Leslie Hendrix Wood Interiors in Midland, Texas, and the owner of this blog, Hadley Court, was chosen to be an official 2015 Style Spotter alongside 7 of her esteemed colleagues and Style Spotter emeritus, Michelle Jennings – Wiebe.
As part of the lead up to each High Point Market, two online events are held,in official partnership with #HPMKT, to preview some of the new product introductions that will be seen – one involves the 2015 #HPMKT Style Spotters and one involves another group of experienced, talented interior designers.
The first of these events was held earlier this month, when Lisa Ferguson of Decor Mentor and her team of talented designers held their twice yearly New Product Preview chat on Twitter.
For this chat, manufacturers were invited to submit to Lisa and her team their new product introductions for Fall 2015 High Point Market. 399 submissions came in, representing over 650 images of new products. You can see a link to the Pinterest board of all the submissions at the end of this post.
Last week, another event was held, this time with only the 2015 Style Spotters, where each of them was asked to choose one favorite item of their own, from all of the submissions that came in for the Decor Mentor Twitter chat.
Today’s post, dear readers, shares with you what each 2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter chose + one big surprise “New Product” bonus at the end, just for you, that was not part of the submissions for the original Twitter chat.
Enjoy!
2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Leslie Hendrix Wood chose this traditional, gilded Gustavian bench from SWEDE COLLECTION. The surprise? The lid flips open for storage. Smart thinking.
2015 #HPMKT Stylespotter Jonathan Legate chose a bench too, but with a more modern vibe. This one is from KEYSTONE COLLECTIONS’ Katy Skelton Collection.
Moving from benches to consoles, 2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Kati Greene Curtis chose BERNHARDT FURNITURE’s new *Andorra* Console. We love the rippling, reflective front of this piece, too. Can you imagine the reflection you will get of whatever will be in front of this in a room? What a beautiful design detail that might create.
We hear from Bernhardt that there are some other beautiful new introductions this market, too.
Although it’s also our opening picture, we will show it again here as it’s another console option. This one was chosen by 2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Arianne Bellizaire. It’s CARACOLE ‘s “Extrav-Agate” console. We are more than a little in love with this. You, too?
2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Courtney Lake chose this geometric, jagged edge, 4 drawer mahogany chest with gorgeous brass hardware from STERLING DIMOND, a division of ELK INTERNATIONAL. Geometrics are a big incoming trend, as you will see if you look at the New Product submissions board, linked to at the end of this post.
2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Patti Johnson chose JOHN RICHARD COLLECTIONS’s *Dahlia* Cabinet in a bright bold red! The front doors of this cabinet are reverse painted glass and the interior is gold! We can’t wait to see this in person. This showroom is a favorite of ours at #HPMKT!
2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Lori Gilder chose Alfonso Marina’s stunning, hand carved *Villiers* Armoire.
We couldn’t resist sharing with you one additional, close up image of its handcarved center medallion.
#MakerMagic
2015 #HPMKT StyleSpotter Emeritus, Michelle Jennings -Wiebe, chose this statement piece from CHRISTOPHER GUY. Whether you use it as a chair or leave it as sculpture, wouldn’t it make a great conversation starter in a modern home?
No home is complete without a little whimsy, and #HPMKT StyleSpotter, Beth Dotolo, chose B. PILA’s “Pick Me Up” Swing as her choice. We can see this in a bay window in any tween girls’ room, with her favorite dolls perched on it, who’s old enough to know that it’s meant for looks, and not for swinging.
And there you have it, our friends! We can’t wait to show you more, especially from fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s new collaboration with Hooker Furniture, coming up at #HPMKT!
