Where have the spring and summer months gone? It seems like just yesterday we were at High Point Market, enjoying all the beautiful things we saw there, and now it’s summer and the week of the Fourth of July. Before we know it, it will be time for Fall #HPMKT!
Today, dear readers, to start the week, we’d like to share with you a recap of what has happened for Leslie Hendrix Wood -from a work/business standpoint since the spring and express our gratitude to all of the companies and people that have made this possible by linking to and inviting you to LIKE their Facebook Pages.
We have a grateful heart.
If you’re a current interior design client of Leslie Hendrix Wood’s in Midland, Texas, we hope you enjoy today’s post and for all our regular readers, we hope you enjoy it, too.
Ready?
Right after High Point Market, Chaddock Home asked if Leslie w0uld participate in a *DESIGN Q & A* – which went in an e-newsletter format out to all of their retail furniture dealers internationally. They asked Leslie to share her interpretation of the design direction she coined, #TheNewFeminine. You can see a screenshot of it below.
Thank you, Chaddock Home, for this lovely opportunity. Readers, we invite you to LIKE Chaddock Home’s Facebook Page here. Chaddock is the home of Mary McDonald’s collection and Larry Lazlo’s collection, amongst others.
Shortly after that, Leslie found out that Christi Barbour and Christi Spangle {Christi Spangle is a fellow volunteer board member with Leslie on the BFL’s board} , co-owners of the design firm Barbour Spangle, HQ’d in High Point, won 2nd place in the ASID Carolinas awards for their pro bono design of the Hadley Court Center for Design Collaboration that Leslie donated to the Bienenstock Furniture Library.
As you can see from the picture below, Barbour Spangle also won 5 other awards this year, including Best In Show!
Congratulations Christy and Christy and thank you for your work on this wonderful state of the art multi-media space that is available to be reserved for anyone in the furniture and interior design industry to use for collaborative seminars, events, and presentations, by clicking here.

Shortly after this news, Leslie announced the formation of her namesake interior design firm, http://lesliehendrixwoodinteriors.com, still located within the Chancellor Interiors space in Midland, Texas.
Below is Leslie’s interior design office in Midland, Texas.
Concurrent with the opening of her own interior design firm, Leslie hired Emily McCarthy, Inc. of Savannah, Georgia to design her new brand elements, which Emily wrote about on her own blog post below:
Emily, Leslie is grateful for the beautiful work you did for her and for sharing it with your own blog’s readers, and we invite our readers to like your Facebook Page, here.
Early in June, the 2015 HPMKT Style Report came out, where Leslie and her fellow Style Spotters were featured on High Point Market’s website, with a beautiful picture of some of the pieces each of them selected.
Click here to see the entire report, if you missed it earlier, to see what all of the other Style Spotters selected, too.
Thank you, High Point Market for the wonderful opportunity you have afforded Leslie to be a 2015 #HPMKT Stylespotter, and readers, we invite you to LIKE the Facebook Page of High Point Market, here.
This month, June 2015, Leslie was asked by Sheila Butler, the founder of the well-known podcast *To The Trade Radio * to talk about her background and how she got her start in interior design. You can listen to the full podcast by clicking on the link below:

Thank you, Sheila, we are grateful for this lovely opportunity for Leslie to share her story with your audience and we invite our readers to LIKE your Facebook Page, here.
In between all of this, Leslie completed a long time interior design job she’s been working on for 3 years, and now, this summer, while still working, Leslie is spending a little more time with her children and her husband at their 2nd home in Lake Austin.
It all goes by so fast, and with Leslie’s daughter now home for the summer from her freshman year at UT-Austin, and her very creative son interested in attending filmmaking school, Leslie will be busy this summer preparing them for the fall season ahead – in addition to undertaking a major remodel of her own home [shown below] in Midland – including the kitchen.
#StayTuned!
For anyone of you that knows Leslie, you know that for her it is always, despite all else going on with her design business in Midland, Texas and other activities, it is always about her family and faith, first.
Thank you so much for your support of Leslie’s business and blog. We appreciate and have a grateful heart for each of you that have provided these wonderful opportunities for Leslie to share her passion for interior design – whether through designing your own home or through sharing her story and blog with your readers so she can reach a wider audience.
